I just discovered stress cracks in the superstructure (not the hull) of my 2006 216. Anybody know if Hunter is doing anything about these and what is best method to repair?

I have a 2004 216 and haven't had this problem yet. I have my fingers crossed. The first thing to do is call Hunter and see what they have to say. The second thing to do is to read the posts for the Hunter 170. The 170 is constructed from the same material and there have been numerous posts about cracking problems. The third thing to do is let us know what your solution was. Good luck.

I've repaired both stress cracks and a larger "crunch" (courtesy of prior owner) to the bow. Devcon makes a "plastic welder" and there are great on line demos on how to do either type of repair. One word of caution: take your time layering the plastc weld; too thick and it bubbles and it's impossible to sand.

Devcon works great. Just keep it off your fingers. Terminate the crack by drilling a hole. Fill with Devcon....Spray paint and buff. May use some epoxy compound to help blend it in.
