just got home and found a fed ex package at my door......opened it up and found a 140 genoa sail to fit my s2......this a great gift from a friend i have made on SBO out of the blue.....Seven Sundays is his name.....he was reading some old posts and came across one where i stated that i needed a head sail, and contacted me ,asking if i still needed one ....i replied yes ....then he told me he had one that he never used and was welcome to it if i wished........dont know how i can ever thank him enough....but again i am indebted untill he is better paid......this just shows how far out the forum has reached and effected peoples lives in different parts of this country and world for that matter.......

yes he is and i try to pay foward every day of my life and just maybe i have been doing that for this nice gift to come my way and rest assured i will keep on doing that everyday foward:)

A guy on here, I believe his screen name is Tim42, or something like that, has a little picture of rum for his avatar, he sent me a new starter soloniod with instructions on how to install it. It is great that there are people out there like Tim and SevenSundays that are willing to share what they have.
Woodster you should ask seven sundays which God blessed you.:)

I think we as sailors do a whole lot of paying it forward in the help we are willing to give another sailor. While we are recognizing acts of doing so, I will say thanks again to Lance On Cloud Nine. When I ripped my mainsail last year, he offered to ship me his mainsail so I would not lose any time during the sail season while I got mine repaired or found a new one. I needed to do some repairs so I would have it on the hard anyway, but it is great that people offer.

Good people indeed!

Several years ago on this forum someone requested the owner's manual for an O'Day 240. They offered to pay if someone would make and send them a copy.

I made the photocopy of my owner's manual, sent it to them and told them not to worry about any cost -- I was happy to help them out.

They sent me a check for about $8 and asked me to spend it on a six pack of my favorite beverage to enjoy on the boat. Short of sending beer through the mail -- it was a terrific surprise.

Sailors are good people indeed.

my goal is dec/jan of 2011 if all goes well i have a lot to do to this boat from stem to stern...all new head system.....new bulkhead in main salon...new head liner through out ...paint the hull liner ....new prop shaft strut ....clean down to gelcoat bottom and sides......vertually everything in the boat will be done over as far as systems go .... and a lot of cosmetic work ...rebuilding the compression post .......i am getting tired here just telling about it lol ...but you get the picture i am sure......there is a lot to work with on this s2 even if it does sound like a lot but i am one who needs to do all these things as i want complete confidence in this boat so i may devote my mind to learning how to sail it as well ....then as they say i will be a hpppy camper........
