Hello all. More questions as usual. I have an electric bilge pump and a hand operated one in the cockpit. I also have a Guzzler 500 under the V-berth that needs to be rebuilt. Was originally used to pump out the holding tank. I've seen pictures that look like a similar pump mounted to a wood board. Would this pump, if rebuilt, make a good spare portable emergency pump with about 10' of hose on each end?
Now a winch questions. It is a Barlow 16. I have asked this question before, checked the archives, been on other forums, and still cannot remove it. Everyone says it is either spring loaded or has a center nut. Here is a pic that shows a slot for a screwdriver. I cannot budge it. Think it is froze? Think an impact wrench would loosen it? As this is the only winch I have not cleaned, and is for my main sail, I want to make one last attempt to remove it safely for reuse before I rip it off and buy a new one.
Again,
Many, many thanks for all your pervious responses to my newbie questions.
Happy sailing all
Mitch
