Ahoy!
I have enough on the boat to take day trips and maybe a weekend trip or two. The boat in question is a Hunter 22, in great working order.
So now that the boat is working, I'm turning my attention to things that would be "nice" to have.
The situation is this: I have enough to make little trips out, I have the required safety equipment and some additional line and a small set of stainless steel screws and tools. But if we're out on the water and anything goes significantly wrong, my best bet to repair the boat would be if it spontaneously becomes self-repairing and can spawn its own pieces. In other words, I've got absolutely no spares of any values.
Another problem is that I have absolutely no idea of what spare parts to get. That's where you come in! I need your stories of what bad can happen on the water in a weekend sailing vessel. What sort of repair tools will I need for the outboard (a 9HP Evinrude long shaft gas sucker), what sorts of stainless steel parts should I be getting?
Any ideas would be appreciated!
