Spring has sprung in the Carolinas and took a break from working on the interior refit. Floor is done, front cabin, head and main cabin done. Now starting on the galley. Where to shoehorn the microwave, formica laminate or corian counter top?? Many decisions.
I looked at my mast and decided to start ordering parts. I do have several questions that I am sure many of you can help me with.
Here it goes:
Looks like the furler needs attention. I dont know the maker and therefore cannot start looking for parts. Looking at the enclosed picture, is there additional parts missing of the bottom of the drum?? Is it too old to find parts for it?? Looks like the decal said CRUISING DESING, however I did not find any manufacturer logo or name on it. Does it look familiar to any of you??
I have several blocks that have broken or destroyed spools.(sheave?) Are they replacable of just chunk them away and buy new ones. They can be expensive!
In inspecting the shrouds, I have located the ones that attach to the chain plates, however there is a set of shrouds above the spreaders that turn into a boom vang. Do these attach to the toe rail?? I cannot locate any point to attach them. I have looked at all my pictures but failed to record the location.
Main Boom: I found 3 lines on the boom. One turns into wire and adjusts the foot of the mainsail. One has an eye and I assume is for the topping lift. There is a 3rd line that ends in a knot and does not look like it goes to anything. Any ideas??
Thanks for your help.
