What do I do with the table in the cabin?

I own a beautiful 1993 First 265. It is a wonderful boat but the table in the cabin always seems to be in the way. The table is permanently attached to the post and that makes it hard to get to the front of the boat. Besides swinging the table to one side and resting it on the cabin seat I don't know what to do with it. Has anyone come up with a clever way to move the table? There is a lot of room in this boat and if there is a better way to deal with the table then that would open it up.

Thanks.

On my B235 I raised the table as high as possible, drilled a hole through the post, put a pin in it.

Thanks, Ron. I thought about that but wasn't sure if it would work. I appreciiate the response.

Truth be told, the table got bumped into when it was down, so first I cut off some of it, leaving enough for 4 people to sit with dinner plates on the table. Still in the way, I raised it as said.

That bumping into is the same problem I have. I thought about removing the talbe from the brace/bracket and storing the table somewhere. I also thought about cutting the collar that goes around the pole so I could remove the whole thing and then reattach it in someway when needed. I like your suggestion.
