I was drooling at a recent boat show chatting with the new owner of a brand new Hunter 49 (Aft Cockpit) . He had, after he bought the boat, a 7 figure cruising budget and was a very experienced sailor. I asked him why a Hunter and particularly this model. His reply was, that are category A for unlimited offshore, superbly equipped, very well thought out, have a "crawl space" under the floor where all the tankage is and also storage for heavy gear right where it should be.
I don't have that kind of cash and can only dream but the answer is, you pays your money and takes your choice..................

Hey TR6 nice car!! I always liked the TR6, I had a spitfire once.
Tim R. Here is a nice Jeanneau at Hellier in New London for 199. has a qeen forward with twin aft cabins. Boat is a 45...would be a great livaboard. Probably pretty fast as displacement is light for the size.

Thanks Dave, I just chartered a Jeanneau and did not like it for many reasons.
I also had a Spitfire(2 of them). I used to race them at Pocono and Bridgehampton. Also had a GT6 and a TR8. Fun cars.

Okay...here you go...easy to handle fast cruise ready 45 footer with a skeg hung rudder and a swim platform for the dog. Been around the world once without you already and the owner claims she is ready to go again. The only thing to potentially bother you is the fact she has a free standing carbon fiber mast. Asking 230K (don't know if she is still on the market...doesn't say when listed), but all rigged out already. New 75hp Yanmar. No pullman berth though.

Take a hard look at a Norseman 447. Very nice boat but the draft is a bit deep for my liking, but meets your criteria. Has the centerline queen aft berth you are looking for. Can be had for around 200K. Not sure of the engine...brand I'm not familiar with.

My boat almost meets your criteria, as would the Bristol 41.1, and 45.5. Only thing lacking is the swim platform stern. However, you could probably add a teak platform like a powerboat. I've seen it done and have considered it.
These Bristols sail very well, are great live-aboards, great storage, tankage, aft cabins with queen berths and are built to a very high standard.
I may be up your way this summer, and would be happy to take you for a sail!

The Norsemans are very, very nice boats. I have been aboard a couple of them and they really are very well built and laid out for cruising.
