As I start my 64th trip around the Sun, it's getting harder getting the plow out of the muck! I'm looking for a windless design for a 1987 Catalina MK II. Does anyone have one?

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
If you go the catalina owners association web site there are instructions on there on how to install a windless on a Catalina 30. If you are MKii there is a place in the anchor locker where you can attach one. You may also find this information on this site if you check for posts about this in the past. I have seen pictures of this being done.

Well, I've searched. I can find a Catalina 34 installation and a above deck Catalina 30 installation, but, I can't find the in-locker design for the 30 that you mention. That is what I'm looking for. Can you direct me to it?

I found a topic on the association site titled "windless retrofit," but, it was blank.

Might be the spelling getting you. Should be "windlass"

Yea, I don't spell too good. But, this was a posted link to click on. I didn't have to spell it!

Figured it out, Fred.

The "article" isn't really an article at all, but a Microsoft Word document tucked away on the left hand side.

Click on that and it should let you save it. Looks like a West Marine article on general windlass installation, but it seems pretty good.

I think Bad O was talking about the article by Tom Irwin on the site here, good pictures and description of the process:

Fred,

Are you clicking on the links directly or copying them and pasting them into your address bar? The latter will not work.
