Thought I would just check in and give a little rundown on where and why. Currently sitting in Port St. Joe, Fl. Waiting out another damn front. Has been a very strange trip so far, even though haven't made many miles. Got almost blown away first night out, then sat up waiting on weather for a couple of days in Biloxi. Then took somewhat of a beating getting across Mobile Bay, but was a fast trip. Made right at 80 miles that day, and then sat another couple of days, again waiting on weather. Now in Port St. Joe, again waiting on weather. The trip here, offshore from Pensacola was even strange. Started out dead calm, then some breeze, then more wind, then more wind, then dead calm again. Longest it has ever taken me to cross that little 100 mile stretch. Over 30 hours, and motored the last 20 some miles. Currently offshore is 25 knots or so, with seas around 10 feet in places, according to the weather bouys. Forecast calls for some improvement by Wednesday, but now I'm beginning to get gunshy with all these fronts back to back to back. Now considering cutting across to Tampa, then hopping down the coast, and across to the Tortugas and then to Isla Mujeras, instead of heading straight across the gulf from here. Did not expect spring weather to be anywhere near perfect, but did not expect it to be this screwed up either. Got a pic from my son in Dallas yesterday, a couple of inches of snow in his yard. Certainly a good thing there are no time constraints so don't have to worry bout making any place by a certain time.

Certainly has been crazy lately. We had 8 inches of rain about a week ago followed by 70-75F and sunny Friday and Saturday. Water levels still aren't back to normal and we are looking at another front with more rain coming.

Stay true to you name, Nice N Easy, and you will get there safe and sound.

Is the fishing any good? Last May Nancy and I took two weeks on the Chesapeake and I think we sailed about 50 miles total.

Thanks for the update. Was in Destin FL for a week or so. Indeed crazy. Blew 25kts+ weekend before last, then was blowing about the same Sunday when I left. I can imagine the pain on a boat...
