Well, after sitting here on my duff for seemingly months, finally going to get out of here tomorrow morning. A front, which is much weaker than forecast, is blowing through now, and is supposed to be out of here by midnight. So tomorrow morning, heading east. Going to buddy boat with a friend part way, if he makes it. Plan is currently to make Port St. Joe, and from there head straight across the gulf for Isla Mujeras. I know it;s a little out of the way, but want to meet up with some folks along the way, and the other friend wants to go part way with his boat. Being retired and not having any time constraints sure is nice.

as the crow flies 600...should take us about 4 days......as for shoveling snow--better you than me---lol....sorry bout that--couldnt resist!!! i left snow country loooong time ago and didnt look back for anything!!!! isnt warm enough there----ross--will post pix when i take them--in facebook and seaknots---(zeehag) or BubbaDaboatkat(facebook)--yes, spoiled fat boy has his own page lol--even has more friends than i do..LOL.

now,y'all keep safe and warm, y'hear!!:eek:

uhoh ...i didnt mention we finally made it under the hwy 11 bridge!!!! WE ARE OUTTA HERE !!!!!!!!!! HOOOOYAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::doh::D;)

btw--did i mention--ye gotta stop that swearing--work is a 4 letter word, mon..LOL!!!!! have fun guys!!

Zeehag, The snow has nearly all melted finally. Some folks tell me of crocus blooms but haven't seen any yet. Here's to wind aft of the beam and less than 15. Before you completely clear land be sure to buy a bottle of port wine for safety. remember any port in a storm. lol

lol--we dont have port wine but have some other kind--we will drink when we are well clear of here lol....warmer water here we come--look out fishies--ima gonna catch ye!!!!
hooooyaaahhhh--that was a very looong wait for sailing!!!! i am sooo not good at being patient lol....but finally under way!!!!
love the any port in a storm --gotta get some!!!
ross--have y had surgery yet?? how are ye doing?? hope all is well....
boatkat still in hiding lol......he is soooo chicken lol:eek:

Two weeks out of spine surgery. From my point of view a complete success. Six weeks to a total hip replacement. By July I should be chasing the women again and maybe even catching a slow one. lol

ok is good--glad yu are mobile aftwr the spine surgery !!! now, if my mom can be fine really close after her first then second total hip replacement surgery , so can you !! lol--just remember---work against RESISTANCE--USE A POOL FOR EXERCISE AND WILL GE TBETTE3R SOONER THAN IF NOT..LOL. AND STRONGER TOO..JUST NO PAMPERING YOURSELF..lol...sorry bout caps--keep hitting the cap loc key on this netbook--is tiny LOL

oh yes, and gulfport is at 0900 off our bow and we are on our way to cat island for anchoring tonite--lol--have fun kids!!!!

lol watch out for the slow ones too--can be problematic lol.......

Thanks Zeehag, You guys have a wonderful time. I lived one summer in Gulfport before the Hurricane Cammille. Been back since everything had changed.

the winds RE MAKING THE AIRx RUN NICELY--THEY DO WORK AT 30 KTS LOL...WINDS STARTED AT 0200 AND KEPT GROWING LOL--NOW IS SMALL CRAFT WARNING IN MISSISSIPPI SOUND --WE AT CAT ISLAND SURFING 3-5 FOOTERS...LOL...FELT BOTTOM AT 0200---MOVED ANCHOR TO DEEPER WATER---NOW IS 3-5 FT INSIDE MISSISSIPPI SOUND WHERE WE ARE AT CAT ISLAND---LOL WINDS SPOZED TO CALM--LOL--HAVENT SEEN THAT YET....W2E WILL STAY HERE TONITE THEN ONWARD TOMORROW---MAKE WAY TOWARDS PORT ST JOE--LOL....NEED SURFBOARD AND WETSUIT LOL.....WILL KEEP POSTED......SEE SPOT JUMP....LOL....:dance:;)

after the early am excitement the day has turned absolutely perfect--island hasnt moved any at all, airX genny has charged the batteries well and solar has taken over--i believe if we werent waiting on a buddy boat we would be sailing to dauphin island--is awesome out!!!!:dance:

addendum!!!! lol...

we were anchored out at cat island when we got the weather from noaa--so we decided to beat feets to a closed marina we know and love--is a goood safe haven in snotty weather---whew-- glad we did--we are tired but not gonna have to get beat up all nite by big winds and large seas...bubba is glad we did also--he got thrown on floor while hiding in my travel bag--it fell onto floor and he was looking hat me like saying.".momms why didja do that to me!!???"...so i fed him and he is fine..lol....gooood kitty.....this excitement suyrely beats the sittin g around waiting phase tho--lol we made 16 miles in under 2 hours LOL...hit 11 kts once and 10-9.9 the rest of the runLOL

Great to hear that you guys are "Out There" .. I was thinking of yall today as I enjoyed the beautiful weather.. Hard out of the west this evening.. Should be a good sleigh ride as yall get back to it !
