I have removed the damaged external sail tracks from my Cheoy Lee 31 mast and boom. They were fastened with stainless steel metal screws, which all twisted off due to corrosion. What is the best way to fasten the new tracks? The holes in the tracks are 3/16". Would 3/16" stainless steel pop rivets be strong enough?

It depends. How are the holes spaced???

The hole spacing is a little less than 3" apart. I would double up the ends.

I like the idea of using rivets if possible, to avoid having screws back out, and jam the sail slides.

I would think that stainless steel or monel rivets are going to be strong enough to do this.
