How would anyone know if a page had been removed from a spiral bound book - and from where?

BTW - The original 'posh' log is loose leaf and held together with two brass screw couplers. Before the exercise book I filled 3 packets of loose leaf pages over the many previous years.

Most spiral bound notebooks say how many pages are in it...and if you count them and the numbers don't match...pages have been removed. A hardbound laboratory notebook, like the one shown below, has numbered pages that are not removable.

Sounds like trouble Ross!

I keep more of a diary than a log. A typical entry would read:" We cast off at 1300 hrs and sail up river to Port Deposit and sailed back home. Winds were moderate from the west south west we were tied up by 1730 hrs. Took a nap and fixed a snack and pulled a cork. We had soup and biscuits for supper and finished the wine. We read until bedtime.
What if you had perfect documentation that you pulled a cork but later dragged an anchor and something bad happened because you were inebriated and slept through it

Not to worry though...if Bismark Dinius' experience is relevent they would have gotten you anyway!

My not so crazy project was really easy and cheap, and I one I think will eventually prove invaluable, I installed a cheap 12volt 2 bulb florescent lite in the cieling of my engine compartment. I glued a piece of PT 5/8" plywood, 8" wide by 30 " long, and attached the lite to it, small rocker switch and let there be lite. Red
