Making mast gates.......

Drill and tap for 10-32 screws.

Fill in the bottom of slot with special clay and dam up top and bottom ends.

Line clay slot with blue masking tape for a release mold....can't find pictures some where on "c" drive or Imega HD.

Stay tuned..........

Finished the mast gates and they work top drawer.
Ran the sail up and down three times...made minor adjustments of rounding all edges on the gates.

I can not find the pictures of this next task..............

After installing blue mold release masking tape in clay bottom slot and sides, I mixed up a batch of J-B Weld and completely filled the slot to a little higher the outside of mast surface.

Then I bolted the aluminun plates, which were roughed up on the inside for a better joint surface, to the J-B forcing the excess out the sides and let the joint cure for 2 days.

Came back later removed the gates, then removed the clay, then replaced the gates and cut a the slot down the middle with a Dremil tool abrasive disk.

How do you get your sail out now?

With the gates closed up what do you do?

You will have to wait until my main sail comes back from cleaning at Sail Care and I will take a picture.
