We sustained some genoa damage to the uv strip in a recent storm and have to remove it as soo as the wind drops. Has anybody had any issues with this task they would like to share? Any tricks to make it easier?

There really is no trick. The jib has a luff tape on the luff and you just release the halyard and pull it down.

That's about it. Just remember to tie the halyard off so it does not head back up the mast.

Assuming that you are talking about removing the UV protective strip, use a seam ripper (you should be able to purchase one at any fabric shop). The UV strip is just acrilic canvas (Sunbrella like), and is just sewn onto your sail.

If you are talking about removing the sail from the forestay, the two posts are almost correct. First you must unroll the sail. It won't drop to the deck if it is furled.
