Does anyone have a 272 out of the water in the Washington DC area. I would ask for permission to measure the hull so that I can design a cradle for my LE. I would not need to get on the boat, all could be accomplished from the ground. Wing keel is prefered but either should work. Thanks

I have drawings for an O'Day 272 cradle....also pictures...it is what I'm building in the spring...will look for them to night.
Thanks Pat. I hope that you are able to locate. I found this link that shows a generic cradle http://www.jowi.com/diagram.gif which could help you as well. The manual shows the lift points at 9' 3" and 19' 6" off the bow. I was particularly hoping to find the curvature at those two stations as well as the width (port to starboard) of the wing.
Well, this should make your research easier, the 272 was ONLY built with a wing-keel, no other option. I have attached 2 pic of a 272 LE sitting on what I think is the original shipping/storage cradle.

This is the cradle I was speaking of in my earlier reply. This is the best cradle I have seen for a 272...just supports the boat really well. I'm off this week and will search for my drawing...also have an approx. cost for materials. How do I get these items to you when I find them ...it will likely be Wednesday. The happiest of holidays to all of you....!!!

Bob, I'm going to my office this afternoon. Will scan and email the drawing and the quanity takeoff.
The cost for materials was roughly $ 480.00. plus the double axle trailer. The estimate was from home depot in Wichita.
