I know this has been asked before but don't think anybody responded.

Is there a source for discounted Yanmar parts on the West coast? I tried Niemiec but they will not ship to Western US. Thanks for any inputs.

You may want to try Barbara at Golden State Diesel in the SF Bay area. Check with her to see if she will match prices. By the time you pay freight and sales tax, I don't think you are going to save very much.

What parts are you looking for?

All I need for now is disposable stuff- fuel/ oil filters, impellers/ o-rings etc for spares. I would like to find an online catalog source for the convenience.

Thanks

If you call Barbara she can tell you exactly what you need. Many of the parts have different numbers because of engineering changes or design mods.

Yanmar is very strict with the protection of authorized dealer's territories. I doubt you will find a discounter. For oil filters you can find an equivalent in Fram. For fuel filters, impellers gasket and other parts find your nearest Yanmar authorized dealer. I have a Diesel Power company as my dealer and although their stock for Yanmar parts mainly consist of maintenance items they can get parts usually in a couple of days. I like they have the exploded views of different components and you can get the specific part numbers that you need. I once needed a part that was in back order and sales rep there mad a few calls and hunted it down for me. They don't do that in Wally World.

How much are you going to save?

I just did a quick lookup on oil filters for your typical GM JH Yanmar. Here is what I found without much shopping.

Yanmar Oil Filter $6.55 (Niemiec) $7.99 (Torreson)
Fram $5.16
Purolator $7.89
AC Delco $6.31
Motorcraft $9.62

Not a lot of savings considering you change these once a year!

PS: I did not shop for the cheapest price. This was basically the first one that popped up.
