So here is the final, finished interior. I painted the bulkheads as most of you guys already know. I finally finished all the trim, wiring and lights installation. We really like the oil lamp mounted on the aft side of the starboard forward bulkhead. The lamp mount is fully gimbaled so it stays upright. The lamp lifts out to carry by hand, and you can buy other gimbals to mount in different areas so that you can move the lamp to other areas if needed. It is a good alternate light source. The parafine lamp oil burns very clean. We have no soot at all even though we burned the lamp for over three hours friday night.
I was curious if any other oday owners had painted bulkheads. If so any problems? I was carfully to seal edges with epoxy. I used lowes porch paint and it seems as hard as a rock. resists scratches very well.
Lynn and I were lookiing at the schedule for putting her in the water, and with the holidays coming up, work schedule, parties and family visits we decided that we are going to have to wait until after first of the year to spash. Also my youngest son leaves for the airforce after christmas, and that is generating some special events. So this christmas season is going to be busier than most. So yesterday i bought a tarp from lowes and will keep her covered and dry. I can still fiddle with a few things, and then we can spash her early in the sping.
