Can anyone identify this boat??

When we were walking the marina by Long Beach a couple months ago I took pictures of this boat. I couldn't find a manufacturer's name on it and it has been bugging me ever since. Who made this boat?

It has a canoe stern that looks just like the bow, but I forgot to take a picture of it.

I hope someone can identify it so I can quit wasting my time looking for it on the Internet. We both really liked it, but I'm sure we can't afford it.

Looks a lot like a pacific seacraft boat, but it would really help if you said about how long the boat was as well as had photos of the transom.

Can't be a Norsea 27. The Norsea has a lapstrake molded hull as seen in this photo....this boat does not.

Thanks guys. The stern was exactly like the Slocum 43 you posted and the paint trim layout down the side was almost the same along with the shape of the portals along the cabin sides.

Only problem is the bow was a lot more rounded than the 43 in a side view and she wasn't that long. I don't know why I didn't get a picture of the stern, but sorry I didn't, but like I said the stern was exactly like the 43. I didn't measure the length, but I would guess 30-43 feet.

For some reason it wasn't until I got home (Utah) that I started to really wonder who made the boat and more about her.

I've looked and can't find a Slocum shorter than the 43? Anyone know if there was one?

Maybe. I called the marina and they looked it up and said it is a Solar Marine 31 foot.

I tried to find a picture of one of those only to find one picture of a Solar Marine................

............. and it is a 42 footer and I can't find anything else about that manufacture or any other boats that they made. The 42 has the same different shaped 2 rear cabin portals in the same shape as the boat I'm trying to find out more about only longer. The stern is the same.

Now the interesting thing is, the Solar Marine 42 and the Solcum 43 which has so many features of the boat I'm interested in are both Stan Huntingford designs. The main difference is still the shape of the bow, which is much more rounded looking from the side than the 42 and 43.

I found a listing of Stan Huntingford designs, but couldn't find a boat designed by him that looks like the 31 foot Solar Marine at the marina. Maybe then it was a one-off by Solar Marine using some of his design aspects??

Maybe the story ends here unless someone else has more info. It has been fun anyway.

Thanks, but it isn't a 42 and the bow is so different. Finding out that Solar Marine was out of Taiwan and looking at other boat builders there I found out that Bob Perry designed a number of boats that..........

.......... looked like the one I've posted, but I still can't find a 31 by him that looks like this one.

roughwater or southern cross.....southewrn cross is similar and 31 ft....roughwater is 33 ft...but both have over transom rudders......lyle hess designs are similar as well......

It is not a Nassau 34r, which is what I have, though it does look like a Taiwan built boat.

That is about as close as I've seen yet, and yes I think it was Taiwan built as I've found a number of different ones from there that are pretty similar.

How do you like your Nassau 34? Looks nice. There is one listed....
