The boat that I purchased has a hot water heater installed in the bow under the water tank. I believe that it is a Kuuma but I an not sure. It was never hooked up to the coolant lines so I tried doing that myself. I cut the main line leading from the water pump to the heat exchanger and attached a line in and a line out of the heater with a vent so that I could release any blockage of air. It did not work. In fact, when I ran the motor, the temp. guage did not work until I restored the line to its original state.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to hook this up to the bypass hose that goes from the pump to the thermostate housing? I recall seeing some sort of installation like that.
