had a boat try to sink under city water pressure hookup in kali--isnt fun to come home to a half sunk boat LOL---the pumps really donot totally keep up with it----so i recommended using 2 regulators for that purpose---the hose connection inside the boat blew out spectacularly and required immediate replacement--wasnt costly but the boat would not have beent here if i had been late from work.....

Or you could not install one at all if you don't have it and run off your water tank as we have for 18 years. Chuck

The bed has a real mattress and is comfy, so I am hesitant to use it for storage. The navstation is just to starbord of the companionway steps, just aft of the stove.

Re: a little more info

Well, one would think so. There is an antenna on the mast, but we've never been able to even pick up the Sav stations. Now of course I still have the analog TV and broadcast is in digital.

We are in Beaufort and with our antenna can pick up both Charleston and Savannah stations with no problem. Our TV is digital but you could get a converter box. Chuck

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
Hrm. I have heard people refer to the aft cabin part of a Catalina 30, Catalina 34, and Catalina 36 as the Garage or Trunk. I tend to use mine as a trunk as well. I agree with sleeping in the V-berth, that is where I would be.

I lived on my Catalina 30 for a few months when I was going through a divorce. It is do-able but a bit cramped. I am still trying out how to tackle the winter in the area I live (biggest problem will be getting fresh water) and my marina doesn't have showers or other facilities (especially in the winter when they close the bathroom). If I can figure out these issues, I may go to a bigger boat and become a live-aboard myself :)

One thing that I did notice is that when I lived aboard I tended to sail the boat a lot less. That is one thing that botheres me about the idea.

size of boat doesnt matter--if you live aboard is much more difficult to get the docklines to let go of the dock--more to do than just lift lines and sail!!! doesnt matter what ye say about keeping things orderly--that is moot---is all about the idea of sailing the house---until , of course, ye lift the lines and take them with you to cruise....goood luck--keep it unstuffed----keep the downsize mantra----downsize---so things donot accrue as much LOL...have fun----
