I have a 272LE and would like to know a safe and echonomical way to place it on a lift. Do I need to support it by the wing keel or will two curved bunks work safely? The lift is 6.5 tons so that is not an issue.

Generally boats are lifted out of the water with two large straps. When put in cradle or on trailer then the keel is supported. So, the best way would be to lift with two straps and lower onto keel support and bunks.

for a temporary lift i would think straps would be fine. is the boat going to be sailed from a hoist so it will be in the hoist most of the time? if so, you may want to consider having a custom cradle made instead of using straps so the boat could sit on the keel and be balanced with side boards.
