iPhone best apps 4 sailors?

I just got a new iPhone 3G 8 gig. Any sailing related tips and tricks would appreciated. Or tips for use with any cell phone also. boat related only please. thanks in advance.

I did get the navionics chartplotter app. and it works pretty good.

here's a few possibilities

A couple of little ones that I find pretty handy (and that do pretty much what their names imply):
Tides
Knot Guide
Weatherbug
The Weather Channel

I also have the InavX Marine Navigation app, but have found it pretty much useless. Perhaps it's me, but for example I can't even handle its zoom function succesfully on land, let alone on the boat. I expect that one day my iphone will replace my portable garmin – but not with the apps that are currently available.

You can set up sailflow (sailflow dot com) to give you a local wind forecast.

get the navionics software-it works pretty well, and has the navionics charts for wide areas-it's for sale now for $4.99-don't know where you are, but the entire east coast and bahamas is included in that price!
Also good are rules and signals, tidegraph, and windbuoy

My only complaint with using iPhone gps is that there is no connector available to hook up the phone to a VHS radio for EPIRB. I've asked the "geniuses" at the Mac store about this and you can only imagine the dumb looks I get.

One of the new big features of 3.0 is, IIRC, the ability for iPhone apps to utilize third party hardware attached to the dock connector. I'm sure if there's any way for GPS data to be sent out through the dock connector, someone will promptly create and market an adapter that converts it to NMEA.
