I have a 1999 240. I want to add an AM/FM CD player with a couple of speakers, but I am a little at a loss where would be a good location.
Anybody got any ideas?

Navpod sells some nice speakers that fit under stern rail seats. Might want to try those.

Buy a marine boom box (e.g. Sony) some D cell batteries and a few bungee cords - - eliminates running a bunch of impossible speaker wire and the sound is quite good- plus saves lots of $$ that you can spend on sails or other stuff

I have a Sony boom box that would run off 12 volts. It died. It will not recognize a disc. Costs a $100 bucks to replace it. And that is what I will do. At least as a temporary fix. thanks for the input

Stereo location

I just put in a stereo in my hunter 240 - placed the main unit in a hole that I cut out of the sink pedestal on the step side. I ran the wires rather easily under the sink both forward and backward from there. I put round recessed speakers on port and starboard in holes I cut out from the storage areas under the cushioned seats in the cabin. I also placed two speakers under the stern rail seats. Turned out great....
