I wish that I had the time to drive up there. If I still lived in Hyde Park I would be up there in a minute. And with my camera. Surely some of you guys are close enough to give us the real poop.
Anyone know where I can hire a dwarf to hang from his feet from the top of my engine room? That is the only way that the surfaces around my engine can get cleaned with the engine still there. I wonder if Mains'ls dwarf is moonlighting.
Clean boats
I put my boat in on May 15. The usual leaves from the trees trailing it to the yard and the grease from the yard guys boots are still all over the deck and cockpit. Im going for the award. Grimiest boat of the season Im not cleaning it. Too much work and Im too old. 72
I am sailing it though every chance I get. It might be dirty but the rigging sails and all mechanical equipment is in tip top condition. It rains a lot here in New England The boat should be clean by hauling time in October

i think mine wins that award--i just repowered and the old ded red engine was full of black dirty oil--the idjit previous owner blew up the engine let the old oil fly around in the bilges for ever and then added more on top of the damage so i win.....lol.....oh then the boat sat abandoned for 4 yrs lol.....so i really win......gotta try harder to beat this old formosa for dirty lol....i am trying to clean her but seems like a losing battle---as soon as i give up she will become self cleaning lol......
zeehag, just sail her to a petroleum shipping yard and ask them to crane her up and dip her in one of those million barrel tanks of kerosene, then hang her from the keel for about a month.
hay if i do that i can fix the shaft tube too and replace cutlass bearing -- i wonder if that would be less spensive than a real haul out lol......!!!! is getting cleaner slowly but surely.....dang oil sucks into fiberl]glass rapidly and thoroughly lol.......
