What to use to hold centerboard?

What glue/caulk should I use to hold the two wedges in place that hold the centerboard up? Also should I use anything on the metal plates? It looked like whatever was there before caused some corrosion on the SS.

3-M makes about three different caulking adhesives, 5200, 4200, and 4000 UV. I would use either the 3M 4200 or the 4000 UV adhesive sealant. You can probably buy it at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, or Lowe's pretty cheap. I've used the 4000 UV on gudgeons and deck hardware, and I prefer it over BoatLife caulking, myself. On the metal plates: I coated the bolts with Never-Seize and painted the plates with bottom paint.

I think the PO had used 5200, but I can't be 100% sure. Like I said, whatever was used must have starved the SS of oxygen and eaten into it slightly. I had to rebuild the backsides of the wedges because the foam had degraded slightly as well. I'll use some 4200 or 4000. Thanks.

Actually, I think that I used 3-M 5200 on my wedges last spring because I couldn't find the 4000 or 4200 at Home Depot and WalMart. I'm confident that I could remove those wedges with a hair drier and a fillet knife, if I ever had to.
