I have a 1984 Capital Yachts Newport 41 powered by its original Universal 5432 Diesal. The engine manual states the reduction gear is a Hurth Gear however the manufacturers name plate is long gone off the the gear box. I am trying to determine what model the gear box is and the reduction ratio. The engine manual states it is 2:1 however when measured underway with handheld tachometer ratio appears to be close to 1.8:1, if the clucthes are slipping then measured ratio would likely be greater than 2:1 not lower. Also when rotated at the dock the ratio measures at 1.8:1. Gear serial number is 09-12933. Any help is appreciated?

Yes I have but Hurth has been acquired by ZF. ZF does not seem to have a contact via their web site. I have contacted a So Cal distributor and they can not trace through the serial number. They have however asked for a photo which I am sending them.
