My project for this morning was to change the water pump impeller on my little 2hp Suzy. The dink motor. Surprise, the water pump on the suzy is not on top of the lower unit, but rather right behind the prop. This is the first one like this I have ever seen. But have never changed one on anything smaller than a 5hp before. But it is so easy and simple, don't understand why every motor isn't made this way. All that is necessary is to remove the prop, take off two nuts and lift off the cover plate. There is the impeller. Not much different than most raw water pumps. I am attempting a Mainesail type how to on this, and I know it is not even close to his standards, but first attempt so how bout just a little slack.
Photo #1 shows the prop removed and the two nuts to remove. Photo#2 is the cover plate off, and #3 is the impeller in it's little hole. I hope this may help someone who is doing this for the first time.
