I just bought three sails from a guy in Tampa.

1 spinnaker, 1 small genoa, and a mylar genoa

His dad had bought a roller furler and didn't have any needs for the genoa's and the spinnaker was too much for him to handle.

My question...how the heck do I rig a spinnaker on my Oday 23?

I haven't got the sails yet, but expect to get them next week.

Must be nice to have all that expendable cash...

Look on top of your mast. Many boats already have a spinnaker bail. If you do not, add one, guarenteed less expensive than sails you already bought. Any good yard can do or you can do it yourself. If you have never done this task, get experienced help.

You will need block for bail and halyard for block. Block should be put on while mast is down and halyard feed at that time. If you are small and shimmy real good, go can aloft to add block and feed halyard.

Re: Spinnaker

Thanks for the info!!!

Well...the three sails were only $100. I found the guy on craigslist. His dad bought a roller furler (so he didn't need the hank on genoas) and didn't ever use the spinnaker.

I think I have a Kenyon mast. I'll have to check to see if I have a bail.
