I have a Vari-prop 3 blade prop on a 2005 H33 with the 3YM30. For cruising it works great. Stops and reverses great and the blades go straight when under sail. Not sure how much more speed you'll get but it should give you an improvement.

There are several solutions to your dilemma. The first thing that you should address is your budget. You can buy a Campbell 3 blade prop for about $400 or go to a Kiwi feathering prop for $1200-1400 and the prices go up from there.

Regardless of what you decide upon, be sure that you contact a prop shop and have them size it for you.

What are your top RPM and top speed now, what two blade prop do you have
now.
I changed from a three blade fixed blade to a Flex o Fold and very happy with the improved performance.
I believe that the three blade I had was the wrong pitch for my 2007 Hunter 36.

If you're not interested in the expense of a variable or feathering prop, the standard 3-blade from Hunter will give more speed under power than the 2-blade. For details on that I'd call Hunter. Based on my experience, the 3-blade feathering Kiwi has less speed under power than the 3-blade fixed, but sails a heck of a lot better. I don't know how the Kiwi compares to the 2-blade fixed.
Your post says Hunter Vision-36, but I think you mean just plain Hunter 36.

We've got an autoprop on our 356 and really like it-better performance (hull speed at lower rpms) quicker acceleration in forward or reverse, and better control (minimal prop walk). Autoprops are expensive but don't have to deal with complex gearing, self pitch for the load, and are easy to maintain (grease once a year)

Hunter Prop

I'd like advice on a prop that will give more speed for this Hunter 36 2006 and Yanmar 3yM30 engine 2006 ; can the stock current 2 blade prop be improved-upon ??

I have a Hunter 36 and have been using the Kiwi prop for over 2 years. It's great. I've added over half a knot on sail speed and the prop walk in reverse is minimal. It costs $1200 and can be installed in the water. You can't go wrong.
