I recently removed the fiberglass sink and stove compartment from the galley cabinet of my O'Day 222, and added a new stainless steel sink and raised the stove by using a stainless steel steam table pan next to the sink. My main concern is the liner fabric directly over the second burner of my Origo stove. The stove sits a little higher now than it previously did. By raising the stove, I was able to create more space for my pots and pans in the recess area where my stove used to sit. I'm trying to decide whether to cut out a portion of the head liner and install stainless steel sheeting somehow, just as a fire preventative shield, which is easier said than done. This one has me stumped. I haven't been using that burner for my stove-top oven because of the heat that it produces. I'd like to fireproof the area in that vicinity somehow. Does anyone have any ideas on what to use? Ed K., what say you?
