Access Problems

I'm no genius, and I guess I'm barely computer literate, but sometimes when I try to access one of the forums, or sometimes when I am on a forum and want to summit a response to a topic I double click on an address or click on send or submit and very little happens. I could go to another address in my bookmark folder and get instant response but if I come back to these nothing happens again. (note this only happens sometimes, not all the time). If I wait while nothing is happening, I will eventually get a message that Safari can't open the page, of find it, or something like that ( I have a Mac and use Safari). Can anyone tell me what the problem, or the hold-up might be? Sometimes I have tried repeadidly for up to a half an hour.

Hi Joseph

Well, one thing for sure, your request isn't going far... the servers are located near Boeing Field. :) We did have a couple of outages Saturday that lasted a few minutes, one that was probably about 1/2 hour in the afternoon. Today, Sunday, the server was down for less than one minute at these times: 5:55am 8:37am 12:51pm Best thing to do is contact me via email: phil@sailboatowners.com we'll do some troubleshooting. ph.

PH It may have been at one of those times, especially Saturday,

but now i'm sure that my problem on Sunday was my Broadband Provider as I was out of business all day. I rebooted my modem and solved that problem. Other times however, that is not the case. I'll let you know the next time by E-Mail. Thanks Joe

Check Activity Monitor

One thing that can be done is to check the activity monitor to see if something is going on.

The thing I hate is after writing a long post and hitting the "submit" button and it doesn't take, is timed out, and the like, and everything is lost. What I hate more than anything is re-writing something. I usually try to copy what I wrote if it's something I don't want to re-write but last time this site allowed me to re-log in and it went through, a big frustration saver.

John, did you notice the date of the original post? April '08. This is like 6 months and 7 days old. I'm sure his problem was resolved. And, the forums Jos. is talking about are not these forums.
