Cetol advice wanted

Hello everyone last fall I refinished all the woodwork on my boat. I removed all the woodwork from the boat. I cleaned the teak, sanded it down and applied 4 coats of Cetol Natural Teak and 4 coats of Cetol Marine Gloss. My question is do I just wash the woodwork and apply 1 coat of Marine gloss or should I use a scuff pad scuff it up and then apply a coat of Cetol? Also I did the same to the interior teak is it necessary to put a maintainance coat on the interior every year? Thanks in advance for your help.

For the best results it should be lightly sanded and then wiped down with a solvent to make sure there is no oil or contaminants sitting on the surface. Four coats of base is a lot and you may not need any more gloss yet??

Also I did the same to the interior teak is it necessary to put a maintainance coat on the interior every year? Thanks in advance for your help.

The interior should not need it but once every 5-8 years, if that, if it's kept dry and UV can't get to it..

Cetal observation

I have found Cetal to be remarkably tolerant of poor prep. sometimes I would scuff it and other times I didn't, if I had a ding I would feather it and apply another coat. It didn't seem to make any difference what I did. It always looked pretty good. Ray T

I have been curious about cetol for a long time, but have never seen a boat with it (that I know of). Does anyone have pictures of it used on their boat? Thanks.

It sounds like you did a first class job with 4 base coats and 4 gloss top coats. I doubt that you would need an additional gloss coats on the exterior before the 2nd year.

I originally used 2 base coats and 2 gloss top coats and my boat is exposed to U.V. 365 days a year...I find that 1 gloss top coat a year keeps everything in good shape. I do scuff sand (very lightly), wipe with acetone and then apply the gloss coat...this has always worked well.

I cant get
