You ain't never lived until you've worked in a Nike shoe box, swinging a big wrench, removing a mixing elbow :I don’t know why he needed something that big or even how he swung it around in an engine compartment.
My final solution to this was to insert two temporary studs before getting into anything back there :
- slather parting compound on the discharge manifold flange
- next coat the gasket on both sides and slide onto the studs
- finally coat the flange face on the bottom elbow and slide the whole assembly on over the two temporary studs.
- loosley tighten nuts on to the two temporary studs.
- insert the original bolts into the two remaining empty holes
- remove the two remaining studs from their holes.
- screw in the last two original bolts.
