So I’m pretty sure I have the answer to this, but I’ve never done it before so I’m gonna throw it out there. I’ve replaced a majority of my through holes valves and fittings and the new valves from Graco have a Zirk fitting available to grease the ball. So when I remove this then grease the fitting when I’m replacing the set screw. Do I just use Teflon tape or pipe dope?

Thanks

If the screw has straight threads, nothing is needed. If the screw has tapered threads, then teflon tape or pipe dope is needed. The screw probably has straight threads.

Advice- over time the grease washes out and seawater comes in. You will see some watery grease get pushed out the other side when you inject more grease. The Groco grease contains an antifouling compound.
Make sure you put in fresh grease before winter layup. I deferred the grease refresh until Spring and was upset when I saw the water coming out. (I thought it would be enough just to leave the valves in an open position on the hard.) The seacocks still look ok but I’m nervous about it.
Edit - BTW that grease must be made from some type of rare material the way they price it. Those 3 oz cartridges aren’t even full.

Is this grease suitable to be used in raw water pump shaft that uses rubber lip seals, such as Oberdorfer Raw water pumps commonly used on Univetssl engines?
