If he’s talking about the same Gray Enterprises portlites I have in my ‘82 H30, there’s a spring in one of the hinges that holds the portlite up when open. It works better on the smaller size portlites than the larger ones. There’s a wing nut on one of the hinges, I think it’s the one with the spring, but I’ve never removed it or the spring and my boat’s tucked away in winter storage now, so I can’t be much help.Maybe it’s me but I have no clue what you are describing.
No, no, no. It's not just you.Maybe it’s me but I have no clue what you are describing.
I'll attach a photo.how can I remove and reinsert the torsion spring on the port lights on my Hunter 37c?
Yep! That's the ones. Gray Enterprises. I don’t know why you would want to remove it unless it’s broken. The guys at the SBO store where I bought my replacement portlites are quite knowledgeable. I might start with a call to them because I believe they sell replacement parts as well as whole units and this spring would be part of that assembly.
Gray Enterprises would be an after market installation and about as good as you can get from other posts I've seen on here.Yep! That's the ones. Gray Enterprises.
If you try again, copy the picture at its source and then paste it here in the text.I tried to post a photo but couldn't figure out how to do it.
