The cable that holds the engine cover/cabin steps when angled forward was removed by a previous owner of my boat and I am looking to replace it.
I suspect it was removed when the sound deadening material in the cover was replaced. I am try to figure out where the eyestrap/padeye was mounted inside the cover. I would rather not blindly start removing the sound deadening material to find the mounting holes.
Does anyone here have (or could possibly take) a photo of the placement of this eyestrap mount point that I could reference?

Thanks

Can you find a pic of what you're referring to? Maybe on Catalina Direct?
The first photo shows the eye strap on the bulkhead, one end of a cable attaches here. The second photo shows my cabin steps engine cover fully tilted over, there should be another eyestrap in there somewhere for the other end of the cable to attach to. With the cable in place, the steps would lean forward as shown in the third photo, making basic checks for oil, fuel and coolant

Here is the cable attached to the top and the attachment point is about 10 to 11 inches from the top. The shiny horizontal part is the insulation edge and that is where I measured from. Trust this is helpful even as a guide.
