420 Passage transom locker hatch size

I have a 2003 Hunter 420 Passage and I need to know the exact size of the two stern locker hatches. I am 1,200 miles from the boat so I can’t measure them. Can someone measure the stern locker hatches on your Hunter 420 Passage for me and let me know? Height and width please. I need to know so we can order letters for our hailing port. We seem to be having trouble fitting 4 inch letters for our long town’s name.

That brings me to a different question: has anyone used smaller-than-the Coast Guard required 4” letters for their hailing port?

I can’t help in hatch measurements, but for lettering it is quite common and seems to be a non-issue for US documented recreational vessels to have their name and hailing port done in a variety of ways, including smaller size, cursive, incorporating graphics, etc.

For my boat I had the space and went with the regular 4” easily readable block font since it fit easily. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, just make it easily readable within available space and artistic limitations.
