For all y'all who are watching, the refit is coming along, albeit slowly. I've installed a new starter and Balmar alternator, and will be installing the regulator today. The plan is to put it behind the companionway so it's easily seen as well as being out of the engine room temperatures, and run the wiring from above the engine to the various terminals.
I'm waiting on a new key switch before going back at the mechanical work. I did purchase the key switch - $200 - only to learn it was the wrong model, although it could be used. The correct model, which does NOT have the three wires coming from it, is $100 bucks cheaper. Easy decision.
The floor has been sanded in preparation for new cushioned vinyl flooring, and First Puppy Riggs is doing quality control as you see. The paint has been sanded off the walls and sides of the seats, etc. The wood will be stained and varnished to restore its good looks.
Also, found an Amish upholstery guy who will recover the foam in a maroon leatherette for the entire cabin - $1500, including materials.
The oven is a CNG oven, so it's coming out. I could re-jet it of course, but it's old, looks a bit rough and besides, I never use an oven and with the microwave, I certainly won't be using this one. I'm looking for a nice three burner cooktop if anyone knows of a suitable brand and model - 21 inches width, and I'll build some shelving below it for pots and pans. Same with what was once the home of the refrigerator. That hole will become a pantry, which ought to really stress my non-existent carpentry skills.
Finally, the countertop will be retiled in black marble streaked with white. Yea, I know - a bit gay, but it'll look great when it's done against the black colored doors of the small lockers.
