What to do with keel for now

I need to put my Mac 22 in the slip by early July, else slip goes to someone else. Here's how my keel looks, I don't want to remove it , sand , barrier coat, bottom paint for now. I can sand it where it's now, but what should I do for paint, just 2 layers of bottom paint or will Rust-Oleum do the job.

I plan to haul it out and do the complete job in the winter.

Scrape the barnacles and crud off. Sand with some 80 grit, and paint with cheap antifouling. No need for the expensive multisession stuff since you'll be taking it off later.

Should I use the ospho converter stuff before the paint?
This is what it looks like after some scraping and sanding, good enough or more sanding needed?

Use an inflatable dinghy in your slip to hold it!

I'd want to get rid of more of the barnacle bases before putting any anti-fouling on, so a little more sanding required.

Depends, if you are really in a time press, then Ospho and antifouling. You'll work harder when the boat comes out of the water, more work now means less work later.

A 40 grit flap disk in an angle grinder will make short work of that rust.

I'd estimate grinding would be a 2-4 hour job
