Beats the view from my front window in Indiana though… looks the snow has already started…

But on a fun topic, I missed the wind anemometer cups spinning on the boat, so I put up a weather station down here in Florida….

You can watch our nearly perfect weather this time of year on my weather station page…

Again….sorry!

Nice trick, show the temps °C so we think its cold in FL at first glance.

I think you can set the settings for temp, wind speed, barometer, etc. to your preferences…

Greg
With a little digging around, you can change the units, the default is °C. For a regular user that's fine, for the occasional viewer, not so much.

For about $1,000 you can get a dickinson furnace with a proper chimney.

I have a cover on the boat so ventless is best
I’m waiting til temperatures rise. I have some glue ups needed. At the present temps Epoxy and various glues will not cure. It is not the air, but the temperature of the wood and fiberglass on the boat. Even though it’s sunny and 34 degrees getting the boat temps up is a battle. Keeping them up for a week to get full cure just too expensive. It will be a bit longer but Mother Nature will come around.
I will be very busy with work come spring time so I'm trying to knock stuff out now. Fiberglass work will have to wait of course
You could install one of these…cheap Chinese diesel heaters.

One more project, but it would give you some fairly reliable heat.

Since you will be sailing in the cold April waters of Lake Michigan, might be nice to have a heater.

Greg
Is it ventless?
Oh yeah,

For your viewing pleasure…I hear snow is expected in the region today.

Nice bathing suit Greg!
Suit belongs to the Mrs…

The Chinese diesel heater is not ventless. But it can vent out the stern of the boat.

Sure it does!

I wonder if the exhaust is cool enough to vent out through my engine vent hose. Doubtful
Absolutely not. These small diesel heaters are quite hot, exhaust temps are in the 800°F range. They run on a measured pulse fuel pump that is ignited with a forced air fan in the burner. Mine sounds a bit like a small jet engine. They operate at extremely hight temperatures. The Dickinson heater mentioner earlier does not use forced air and the exhaust temperature is much lower.

Once you set your preferences, it will use those(on the same computer).

From someone who lives in the cold -- the oil filled heaters are nice, but you need to leave them on for quite a while. The oil and metal all need to get up to temp before you really get anything out of them. Once they are, they produce decent heat and are quite economical power-wise. The small propane heaters that screw onto a 1lb bottle are often used for ice fishing up here. They won't warm that large of an area up, and a lot of the heat is radiant. An electric radiant heater would also be a good option. You can place it above you / near where you're working and aimed at you.

I had to do some deck work a while back, so I used the cold to my advantage. Mixed up warm epoxy so it would flow, introduced it to a cold boat so I could get it all where I wanted it without dealing with it kicking off, then left an oil-filled electric radiator running in the boat overnight.

Why do they paint the boats white? Is it winter camouflage?
