Welcome aboard Sail Boat Owners forum. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity on assisting you, I will suggest something like what I installed this spring. For you that would mean removing what you have and installing a new hydrant. There are several different manufacturers. For the price and quality my research steered me towards an Aquor Universal hydrant. They are available in big box stores (Home Depot) and also Amazon.
