Hello, I have a 30ft Hunter would like to replace the stove for just a stove top but add the propane.
Any suggestions where to buy ?

One can allways buy a brand new unit. There are several sources: West Marine, Fisheries Supply, Amazon. One brand with a good record is the Force 10. You could also look at the Wallas brand of diesel stove tops. They double as a heater.

If I were looking for a unit, I would see what was available from boats that were being destroyed and parted off. Maybe E-Bay, but it would be better to go to a consignment shop at a boat yard.

What type of stove is it now?

If you’re changing to propane there will be some considerations to account for to ensure the arrangement is safe. For example the propane storage locker will need to be sealed off from any interior space and vented to allow any vapors to drain downward. You’ll need a shutoff solenoid and regulator in that sealed area, and an uninterrupted hose run to the stove. You’ll also want a propane vapor and CO sensor in the cabin. There may be other considerations based on your configuration, but that’s a start.

The OP calls this a "stove" and it sounds like the description of a Galley Range. i.e. a cooktop with an oven beneath. I note this only to be sure that we are talking about an Apples to Apples comparison,
Exactly what type of fuel does the present cooker require ? If changing to propane (or hooking up to an old propane system) the safe (and insurable) system takes all the parts mentioned in reply 3. I have personally done a 'full Monty' propane install. Planning, Time, and Money were required.
More info will help others help the OP.....

From the OP’s comments, I would say he has a stove/oven unit now, but maybe alcohol Fuel (or CNG)?

He wants to eliminate the oven but just have a propane fuel cooktop.

To add a propane appliance is not trivial. He will need a propane locker, propane tank and regulator, solenoid, hose, in addition to the appliance.

I am curious about the desire to eliminate the oven. I find it most useful.

Thank you, we don't really use it.
Thank you
We do not "bake" much, per se. But most every cruise or overnighter, especially with other boating friends, will involve fresh cinnamon rolls in the morning or chocolate chip cookies. The oven is really nice to have. Down the road, it may be desirable when you sell the boat, as well. IMHO, once a boat gets over 27 or 28 feet long, this "luxury" starts to become a necessity for most shoppers.

That all said, if your boat has an old pressure alcohol range, most future owners are going to replace it anyway with non-pressure alcohol or propane.
