Hi, The furling line is frayed and needs replaced, however I can't figure out where to find out how it is connected or what the name brand is on the Furler. It is inside my anchor box and only has an opening where the line comes out, which is probably about a third of the area is open. Any help on this I would appreciate. I don't see anything on the manual to help with this.

Thanks, Cheryl

If there are two furling lines coming out of the deck on the starboard side, you most likely have a Hood 810 Line Drive. If that is the case you will need to splice a line into a loop, routing the line down under the deck around the furling jaws and back up through the deck before splicing. If there is only a single line, you most likely have a Hood 800 Single Line furler. The Hood 800 manual can be found here > Furler line on a 1994 35.5 Hunter Legend.

I have the 810. I had to butt splice the new line for a continuous loop. I replaced all my furler stanchion block sheaves while I was at it. My old ones looked like this. Just adding drag.

Thank you, it is a single line and the previous owner said he thought it was a hood. Thank you so much. I will download the manual you attached and look at it. Appreciated.

On the Hood 800 SL Furler there are three nylon screws at the bottom of the drum cover. Once they are removed the cover should slide down exposing the drum. Once the drum is exposed you will be able to see the knot securing the furling line to the drum. Replacement of the line is straight forward at that point, just ensure you run the line through the slot in the cover before putting it through the hole in the drum and tying the knot.

Hi Brian, thank you. I found a manual and downloaded it. Looks pretty easy todo. This sight is always so helpful. I've been looking all over to try to find what Furler this was. I have all the information from the manual the previous owner left me that has size of line and how long. It is really helpful, but the furling is missing on it. You have been a great help.
