Contacting the USCG Marine Information Center

This morning I received the attached email from the USCG about contacting the Marine Information Center. This issue comes up from time to time when a new boat is being purchased and documented or when renewing documentation. The link lists the available methods to contact them.

You are right. I did not see the .mil extension.

It appears the USCG has contracted with a company to handle some document management, thus, the link to the document is not a .mil website. However the links in the document are to .mil sites. The email I received is from a local CG official and came from a .mil email address.

Since the link came from a trusted source, I didn't bother to verify the originating source. If you connect to www.govdelivery.com you will redirect to the company handling the documents.
