Windlass woes as a result of anchoring woes

I like it Mike. Looks clean. Serviceable to get you away from the dock and cruising.

No doubt you’ll make it pretty in no time.

Might want to add a strip of starboard to serve as a sacrificial chain guard for that stretch of foredeck from bow roller to windlass. It is a project on my priority list. No matter how careful I am during the retrieval the chain slaps the deck.

I have an old chain plate, polished stainless, that is going to serve.

I certainly wouldn't call it sacrificial. I've had a piece of Starboard taking a beating from 60 ft. of chain going in and out for 25 years and it's still in pretty good shape.
