Looking for replacement turnbuckles

I have a Hunter 23. The deck end of the turnbuckles have become bent. I want to replace them. I'm looking for turnbuckles that have a crimp end on the mast side of the turnbuckle (I don't need that piece right away. I may get back to it if I want to replace the actual stays at some point). Where can I find turnbuckles (1/8" wire) for a Hunter 23? I have looked online and can't find any turnbuckles with the crimp end.

Hello Wolffman.
I am not clear as to the exact design you seek. I did find this list of a variety of turnbuckles offered here on this site.

Perhaps an image of your bent turnbuckle will clarify the item.

I got my turnbuckles replaced on a Hunter 30 at Rigging Only. They were very responsive to my queries and replacement time was short.

Do you need just the barrel or the stud and barrel? The Hunter store here at SBO probably has the turnbuckles.

The crimp you refer to is more likely a swaged fitting which is done under considerable pressure and is much stronger than a simple crimp. A photo will help us understand what your need.

You are going to find a huge variety of sizes and configurations in the used boat parts stores like Sailorman or the Wickford used boat parts stores in Rhode Island. Those used boat parts stores are all over, at least in boating communities. Save you a pretty penny.

Take it to a rigger. It wont cost as much as you think to have a new one made. I'd guess $100-150?

Do not sail until you replace the bottom stud. The bend of the bottom stud was bent in raising the mast. Not sure if it a right or left hand threaded stud. It is a 1/4 stainless steel
You can use both the jib and/or main halyards tied off to side of boat to stabilize the mast without having to take the mast down

If you end up taking the mast down at some point consider new upper and lower stays, as both swaged studs look bent. You could send in the stays to a reputable rigger to duplicate. Make sure they roll swage the studs to the wire. You could also build your own replacements with the self installable fittings, like I think Hayn Hi Mod. Those are pricey, so may not save compared to paying a rigger. Unless the top fittings on the stays use removable fittings you'll obviously have to pay for replacements there too.

I similarly bent the lower end of the lower shroud turnbuckles on my Mariner 19 (also 1/8" wire) when raising the mast last week. Luckily, I was in Waterford, CT at the time. A quick trip to Defender Marine found replacement lower ends in stock (about $10 each). Reused the turnbuckle body and the swaged terminal end. You will need the following info - diameter, threads per inch, and whether it is normally or reverse threaded. I had the part in hand, so simply had to visually match diameter, threads per inch, and thread direction. Defender likely has it.
