I need to replace me 1980's Datamarine depth sounder. At the very least the transducer. DMI is not taking phone calls and not answering email. Is there anything on the market that will fit into the existing holes without recutting?

May I ask, what is wrong with your depth sounder?

Also, transducers are generic. Any 40kHz transducer should work.

The old Datamarine transducers were basically just a speaker and a microphone, sending the raw signal data back to the instrument head for processing. Most (all?) new transducers are NMEA, doing the processing in the transducer itself and putting the resulting data on the bus.

No, not all! Plain old 40kHz transducers are still widely available.
