Hunter 420 Passage San Diego
Nauti, I installed a Yacht Thruster 300 Simplex external bow thruster on our Hunter 41DS 4 years ago and have been very satisfied with it. The install was not to difficult and the operation has been satisfactory. It has been a great addition to the boat.
That is sweet. My 420P would just be a skiff with something like that.

I just put the same system on my 420. I would recommend the external version also. Much lower cost and more effective since it is well forward. The newer 420 has a different forward head set up which pushes the tunnel version of a bow thruster way back and thus much less effective and the estimate was $20-$30K vs. $13K. Well satisfied with my system.

Rick, My total cost for install including the batteries was $6527. Of course i did all the work myself. FYI Attached is a picture of the hull plug I took out for the install. Just to give you a chuckle! Needless to say I was a bit nervous about it.

Wow that is a good price. Fast forward 4 years the kit unit is $7k on sale, plus batteries and 24v charger. I Plan to diy this coming spring. I’m assuming that on our h36 I’ll have to tell the admiral to hold on if shes on the deck!
