I say that like it's a good thing...

I made identical toy sailboats for my grandkids to play with in their pool. Can't wait to see their faces!

After seeing the fun my grandkids had with my 26S mockup I decided to make them each a working model sailboat. Everything was made from materials at hand. Oh, pro tip. Polyethylene foam does not stand up to hot glue. 'Nuff said.

I cut the hulls from polyethylene foam. Sails were made from scrap dropcloth. Swing keels made from steel plate. Rudder from aluminum plate and yes, steerable.

Two boats because two grandchildren. Stands made from a section of mast I had laying around.

And yes, they actually sail!

Clever.. Before you know it they will be shouting.. Grandad can you get us an Optimist.
Or a Finn… so we can go really sailing and compete in the Olympics….

BTW, I have found that polyethylene foam takes Krylon without any ill effects.

Again, no hot glue.
