I am seriously considering buying a Hunter 430.
A quick survey on Yachtworld indicates prices from $60K all the way up to 126K. Similar year boats.
Of course I understand that maintenance and upgrades are part of the puzzle, but it seems a very large price differential for what are essentially identical factory made used boats. I called on the cheapest two and was told they were NOT damaged, blistered, engine shot, or soggy decks, etc. Basically both need a bit of updating but boat was all there and in decent to good condition overall. (I think they are both under contract by the way).
What am I missing? Why such the price difference?
What is a normal ”for sale by owner“ price of a 25-30 year-old 430 in decent shape?
